For years, I lived on an emotional roller coaster.
One moment I could be lifted, excited about an idea, certain it was about to happen. Minutes later I would crash into frustration, sure it never could.
How would it work? How would it ever come to be?
Up, then down. Hope, then doubt. Sometimes all in a single afternoon.
I believed in God. I simply did not yet know how close He truly was.
The moment it changed, I was not in a temple or on a quiet retreat.
I was home, on my balcony at midday, sitting on the couch while my little ones ran wild through the living room. The least holy moment you could picture.
And there, inside the noise, something deep in me awoke. Not a thought I reasoned my way to, but a knowing I felt, from a place far deeper than the mind.
A vision came, clear and undeniable. I saw myself as a woman from an ancient time, robed in white, standing barefoot, singing holy songs from frequencies far above this world.
His presence was not far away, waiting for me to earn it. It was here. Immediate. Mine to turn toward in a single breath.
From the moment I felt Him that close, my life began to change from one end to the other.
The roller coaster grew quieter. The crashes came less and less.
And in their place grew something I had never known. The ability to hold uncertainty without falling apart. Steady, strong, even hopeful.
Because I was no longer holding it alone. A quiet security had settled in me, a partnership with God that steadies me even when the ground feels unclear.
As my closeness to Him grew, I found the bridge. The fastest way I know to open a window to His presence and walk straight through it, in seconds.
The bridge is the music. These prayers. These capsules.
Today, the moment I sing one, or only listen, something in me merges with Him. The noise clears, and my heart sets down what it was carrying.
I come home. I remember that I am held, protected, and deeply loved.
The longer I stay in that place, the more my whole life softens around it.

Hila Ben David, known as HALO
